Navigating the Rollercoaster of Browser Game Development with Replit AI Agent

I’m caught between frustration and excitement as I dive into the world of web development with Replit. The platform has given me a tantalizing glimpse into creating something from scratch, but my journey to build a football management browser game has been nothing of a epic struggle.

I’ve attempted to bring this game to life at least 5-6 times, each attempt ending in a primordial embryo of a project that’s light-years away from even being called a Minimum Viable Product (MVP). The vision is clear – a comprehensive football management simulator with intricate features like:

  • Temporal progression system
  • Training mechanics
  • Match simulations
  • Dynamic league and calendar updates
  • Player skill evolution
  • Complex team and player management

But here’s where the nightmare begins:

The technical challenges have been brutal. I’ve battled with:

  • Crashing databases
  • AI agents arbitrarily deleting users and functional modifications
  • Assistants with seemingly selective memory
  • Persistent code errors and system crashes
  • Endless loops of failed attempts and frustrating rewrites

The login system? An absolute beast. What seemed like a straightforward feature has proven to be a labyrinth of complexity that has repeatedly defeated my efforts.

Yet, there’s a silver lining. The UI/UX capabilities are genuinely impressive. The visual potential keeps me motivated, whispering promises of what could be.

Is it possible to do this kind of project with REPLIT in your opinion?

Holy Moly, that’s a whole new level of trying to use Replit AI agents.

Are you building 1 feature at a time? or have included all of them part of MVP>

Tried both things, unfortunately it didn’t works
