Is it true that Replit replaced the files tree viewer (the left side bar) with Files-> “find a file”? Is there no longer a way to view all of my files in a hierarchy?

Yes, of course you can. You can also choose if you want it on the right or left side in your settings.

They moved it to the right, but it was not obvious how to show it as it starts hidden/collapsed. In the top right there a small symbol of 2 rectangles, you click that to open the files. then in the menu you can select which side to see it in.

Thank god you asked this I thought I was stuck with it on the right, it has been pissing me off for over two weeks. The world is a little better from my eyes again. 
I wish agent could go back to being a tab that I can position anywhere. Not sure why in needs to be only on a side…
I know, I had a custom layout and it worked great for my 27” screen, now I’m stuck with their 3 panels, I can split the middle one but I usually only had a small panel for the chat, it doesn’t need a full height like they are locking you into now.
I agree, it was more flexible before and I enjoyed it a lot. This is taking a lot of getting used to.
New user experience with this has not been so great/intuitive. I couldn’t find it and docs are stale for this. I too thought either they dropped it for the search which I wouldn’t want to use in place of a tree or maybe it was paid only and they didn’t mention in docs. Reddit didn’t help either. This forum was last ditch effort to figure out if it was still there. Finally found it thanks to realfunnyeric (thank you good sir).
It being on the right causes mental discomfort though since non-standard for any IDE I’ve ever used. I’d rather it be between the collapsible task sidebar and the agent messaging column. I can’t find a toggle in settings nor can figure out how to move it. Are we stuck with it on the right now? Am I missing something obvious?
Preferred layout example: [Collapsed Task Sidebar] → [Open File Tree] → [Agent Messaging Column] → [Preview/Editor, etc.] (Bonus: Wide shell under [Preview/Editor] like many IDEs).

No, it’s stuck on the right, and tbh I don’t see the previous flexibility coming back with the new changes made to Agent. I’ve succumbed and gotten used to it. Once you let go, all is well
