I bought layladata.com through Replit (account @ahasan). I need to transfer it to a registrar I control, which needs the AuthInfo (EPP) code. The Replit dashboard has no transfer or auth-code option for domains, so on 5 June I emailed Replit support at support@replit.com asking for the code.
Thirty days on, I have had no reply of any kind. Not an acknowledgement, not a no. In the same window my Replit Core subscription was charged twice (5 June and 5 July), so billing clearly works.
The registrar of record, Name.com, refuses to help directly because the domain sits in Replit’s reseller account, though under the ICANN Transfer Policy and RAA Section 3.12 the obligation to the registrant stands regardless. ICANN Contractual Compliance now has two open cases naming Replit as the reseller: 01614701 and 01616810.
The fix costs Replit nothing: release the AuthInfo code for the domain, or move it into a registrar account in my own name, or reply and say why not. I have offered identity verification from day one and will complete any check within 48 hours.
Can anyone from Replit staff pick this up? Ticket trail and receipts available.
Update, and a how-to for anyone else stuck in this loop with a Replit-registered domain.
Update on mine: Name.com has now refused a third time (their ticket #3037205, 5 July), again citing the reseller account, and Replit support has not replied since 5 June. All of it is now with ICANN Contractual Compliance.
If this is happening to you too, put it on the official record. ICANN’s transfer complaint form is public, no login, about ten minutes: Compliance
What to enter: registrar of record Name.com``, Inc., reseller Replit. Select the option that the registrar is preventing the transfer of your domain. Tick that you asked the registrar and/or reseller for the auth-code and it was not sent within five days. In the description, give your dates, any ticket numbers, and say that the Replit dashboard offers no self-service auth-code or transfer option. You will get a case number by email.
Single complaints are easy to dismiss as one-offs. Separate cases from different registrants describing the same pattern are not. Mine are 01614701, 01616810 and 01625485 if you want to cross-reference them in yours.
Update, 8 July: Replit staff have now engaged on X and Reddit. They say codes were sent; nothing from support@replit.com has ever reached my mailbox in any folder, while Replit’s other senders (notifications@, billing) arrive fine. I’ve offered two delivery routes that cannot fail: paste the code in the open X DM, or send it to a plain Gmail address. Will mark this resolved when the code actually arrives.
