ClockPal: A S-Tracking App Built with Replit's Agent

Hey everyone

I’m thrilled to finally share ClockPal @ clockpal.co.uk with you all

a S

-tracking app designed to make life a whole lot easier for S. workers. :rocket:

What is ClockPal?

ClockPal is all about helping users:
:white_check_mark: Track their work hours
:white_check_mark: Calculate real-time earnings
:white_check_mark: Stay organized with their schedules

It’s been months in the making, and honestly, seeing it go live is such a proud moment for me. :tada:

How I Built It

Here’s where it gets interesting, I have zero coding experience. My background? Sales and marketing. So diving into building this app was equal parts exciting and terrifying because I actually didn’t know what I was doing.

But the thing is—I had Replit’s Agent. It wasn’t just a tool; it was like my friend from college that knows how to code that I’ve wished I had.

I spent months figuring out how to communicate with it, tweaking prompts, and experimenting with ideas.

Spoiler alert: it wasn’t a plug-and-play experience. I had to truly work with the agent to bring ClockPal to life.

What I’ve learnt so far

  1. Collaborate, don’t delegate, If you’re not a coder (like me), don’t expect the agent to just “do it all.” It’s more of a partnership. Guide it step by step, ask questions, and stay hands-on.

  2. Patience is everything: Iteration is key. I had to refine my prompts repeatedly to get the results I wanted. Progress felt slow at first, but the payoff was so worth it.

  3. Learning by doing: Along the way, I started picking up basic coding concepts—terms and ideas that you’re most likely to hear when you’re hanging out with your friends that are developers and that used to intimidate me but now feel manageable.

Advice for Beginners

If you’re new to coding or using Replit, here’s my advice:

Work with the agent, not just through it. It’s a process, but trust me, it’s rewarding when you see your ideas taking shape.

Don’t forget about tools like the Replit Assistant—it’s like having an additional member to the team who’s always ready to refine your concepts.

Final Thoughts

Replit turned what felt like a far-fetched idea into reality. Without the Replit Agent, ClockPal wouldn’t exist.

If you’re curious about ClockPal or want to know more about my journey, feel free to reach out—I’m happy to share more! And I’d love to hear what projects you’re working on too.

This community is awesome, and I’m so excited to see what everyone’s building! :star2:

Man, congratulations! I am just like you and can completely relate to the thrill you feel being able to create things with the Agent. It’s very impressive you were able to make this and launch it. Also, the website is very impressive! Perhaps I can reach out to you later when I am closer to launching my own project. Take care and congrats again.

Thank you! And Good luck with your project. Just keep pushing and I’m sure you will get there

Bravo. I hear you! I applaud you.

I like your share very much. I was really excited to read your share. that you as a non coder did this app with replit. So cool. I tell all my non coder friends to take this time as their moment to create whatever they want digital by themself.

no 3rd party apps that they have to configure for their needs, and instead code any tool they want.

step by step. slowly slowly… but steady.

Coding was always about waiting it out.
Persisting to get the results we are accepting.

The difference is now, that before we needed to talk digital.
Using languages like 01, Assembler, Cobol, C, Basic, Modula, Pascal, Html, Java, the list goes on. I made this for over 40 Years. I got used to it.

They all come together now, in natural human language. I love that.
And first time since long I am more active again in a Forum. Thanks to you guys.

I also will stop my rant now. Keep going.

The road got easier,
the Challenges need to keep going
or we would feel bored.

Thanks again for your great Share. @ igwegbechibuik1
