I’m Kody Low (@kody and @kodylow on Replit) I’m a Sales Engineer and am running point on building up this Replit discourse forum.
I learned to program on Replit while I was in the Marine Corps. During covid I had a bunch of long watch shifts at government computers with nothing happening, and Replit (being browser based) was the only way I could actually code on the government’s locked-down windows computers.
After finishing up in the Marines I used my GI Bill to get a Master’s, and started working as an open-source Bitcoin developer (using replit along the way!)
I love coding in Rust (the correct way to program ) , am a Nix maximalist, and use basically every AI tool available to speed up my development workflows and get feature ideas on what to add into Replit.
I started working at Replit a couple weeks ago and am extremely excited to work with all of you on building cool software, amazing projects, and potentially whole businesses with Replit!
I’m Matt, your friendly Developer Relations engineer. You’ve probably seen me around in the Replit Docs or on X / YouTube.
I’ll be around to share tips + tricks for getting started, the latest Replit updates, and anything else that might be helpful for getting you from idea to app, fast.
A bit about me:
I’m a former data professional turned product marketer. I spend my time thinking about how to communicate complex things simply.
I love developer education and marketing. That includes everything from demos & tutorial videos to product marketing assets, blog posts, event planning, and more.
In my free time, I express my creativity through coding, writing, photography, and videography. I’m extremely passionate about fitness, weightlifting, & all things outdoors.
I live in San Francisco, but I’m from Asheville, North Carolina. I’ve lived in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Utah, & California.
I’m excited to see this amazing community grow and develop. Thanks so much for being here
Hello everyone! My name is Robin, or @robinbobinpopin on this forum. I am not a software engineer (yet).
I come from a mechanical engineering background. For my main job, I design radio systems and work on aerospace-related projects. Most of my formal coding experience comes from robotic control with microcontrollers and occasionally MATLAB.
In the past, I’ve tried to learn to code many times. From Free Code Camp to Codecademy, I’ve tried them all. But I found the traditional way of learning to code boring. I hate learning for the sake of learning. Most coding tutorials had me working in a greenhouse environment where everything was perfectly curated, or had me work on projects that I didn’t care about. So I thought: maybe I hate this, maybe this is not for me.
A few weeks ago, a friend asked me, “You’re an engineer, right? Could you build me this tool that could really help me with…” That really sparked my passion: I wanted to build this tool for someone I deeply care about. But I really hate coding…right? I thought this might be another attempt to learn coding, just like all the previous times.
10 years ago, when a TED Talk speaker was sharing his story of building bionic limbs, he said: “Humans are not broken; technology is broken.” That rings true with my experience with Replit. When I was able to type in the prompt and have the Replit agent help me build the structure of my code, I was blown away. I felt very liberated: for the first time, I could focus on solving the problem instead of learning how to use the tools!
Using Replit, I was reminded of three things that make me feel fulfilled:
Learning something new
Sharing what I learned
Building meaningful connections through sharing
I was invited to this community by @kody after our chat today. I feel very connected to the mission and the people behind the company. I would love to join this community to share my journey of learning how to use Replit to solve problems that I care about! I hope to share more about my projects with everyone here and make this the best community to learn!
I’m thrilled to join this vibrant space of creators and developers. Currently, I’m building Netqube (https://www.netqube.se), a project focused on creating fast react pages for companies and other customers based in Sweden. My favorite programming languages include HTML, CSS, Javascript and React, and I love tackling projects that blend technology with real-world applications.
Beyond coding, I’m passionate about languages, which often inspire my programming journey and drive my creativity.
Looking forward to connecting with fellow developers, sharing ideas, and collaborating on exciting projects here. Let’s make this community even more awesome together! Cheers!!
quick intro - I wanted to share my journey since discovering Replit! While I came in with some minimal coding background, Replit has really leveled me my development of world ready projects. Since getting started, I’ve completed around 15-20 projects spanning personal work, company needs, and client deliverables.
What I do: I build web applications, automation tools, and digital marketing business solutions for small businesses in the Bahamas. I love how Replit makes it easy to go from idea to working code in a few prompts. Oh and the collaborative feature have been especially great for working with my team and getting feedback in real-time.
Some of my favorite things about the platform:
The ability to code anywhere
Simple yet powerful IDE
Great community support
Seamless deployment options
Built-in version control
I’m excited to share more about my projects, learn from all of you, and potentially collaborate on some cool builds. Looking forward to being an active part of this amazing community!
Thanks for having me,
Kemis
P.S. You’ll probably find me tinkering with new features or helping out in the community forums. Feel free to reach out!
Hello everyone, I’m Danny. I’m a non-coder trying to become proficient on Replit. Ultimately it would be nice if I could make something of commercial value.
My background is as a freelancer helping people automate stuff with Zapier.
Replit came as a natural extension of me wanting to build stuff to solve problems for people. I first learned to code with ChatGPT and then along came Replit Agent which has just allowed me to do even more!
Hi guys, I’m a developer who has always worked with MySQL and PHP; in fact, WordPress used to be my way of life until I discovered Replit Agent. Now, thanks to AI, I’ve been able to create several simple SaaS products that help people and provide me with extra income.
I think Replit Agent is incredible for quickly building an MVP, and if it proves viable, you can later develop it further with real programmers.
Hey everyone! I’m Levin, a Product Designer at Trello, Atlassian. I have been trying to learn to code for years to build many of the ideas that I have had with zero luck. But with Replit, I have already been able to build a few apps, one of which I launched this past weekend: https://designfeedbackagent.com
I previously built a SaaS product with a developer friend called Evey Events. Evey is an event management system which I was inspired to build after I founded/hosted a web and design conference for a couple of years. We worked on it for about 8 years and eventually had an exit which was exciting. Now, I’m excited to see if I can build a start up on my own with Replit and have an exit with that too
Other things about me: I live in Canada, love to travel (mainly to Disney World these days with my 7 year old ), and I’m an F1 fan.
I’m loving Replit, and thank you for inviting me to this community.
Really excited to get to know you all and help each other out!
I am PM/Engineer/Designer. Love building and talking about startups.
Avid podcast listener and traveler. Happy to connect with makers https://www.linkedin.com/in/wajahatali8/
Hi! Thanks for the invite. My name is Johan and located in Sweden. I am a product designer at Qlik and do some experimenting with some ideas. Blown away by what I can do so far. And I love the setup with Agents and Assistants. Very useful and clever.
I am doing an app for reading comprehension and also an experiment for work and I am having a blast with this limitless creation!
