Will there ever be community features again / bring back the community

I was part of Replit around 2022. That was before Replit made all sorts of changes. I have had two burning questions for the Replit Staff that I want to know. I know I might not get an answer, but let’s see:

  1. Why did you remove the community features of Replit? (Comments, likes, follows, etc.)
It feels like a very random option, but maybe sharing your reasons would make people understand.
  2. Will you ever bring them back?
You have the “Community Hub” with “Featured Apps” but those haven’t been updated in MONTHS. I also loved the feedback aspect, the collaboration aspect and such. Even if you keep the 3 Repl limit for free users.

Suggestions:

  1. Of course, bringing back the community.
It was the most unique part of Replit. If you brought it back, I would defiantly use the program.
  2. Somehow make it feel more like a community.
Maybe if you removed the comments, but kept the likes, the follows, and such. That would at least make it feel like you were building the web together. (Which, BTW, would make a great tagline for something)

If I could get answers to my questions, that would be great. Other people, please “vote” for this if you think these are good ideas. I really want to see who agrees with me.

Isn’t this…a community?

Ahh, yes. But in the past there were literal project comments and a thriving community where you could see what who you were following was building. That’s the part I miss.

I agree Miles I haven’t been on here since 2024 because of the AI stuff and I forgot my account details and stuff so I made a new account just to share the same message

I recall those community elements. But I guess replit has pivoted. Would be interesting to add some of it back though.
