hi,

No, that’s not normal. I suspect something is wrong with the entries. It does take some time, but I’ve never had it take longer than an hour.
Same problem here. The first time everything worked smooth. The second time I’d to wait 36h until it failed… I wrote multiple mail to the assistance without any response or solution from a human support. ![]()
A failure means misconfig. This is the only reason it won’t verify rather quickly (hour or less).
Well.. I bought the domain via replit… expected to be online in seconds.. still offline after 1 week I bought it and no one is still answering my support request
Well, that is unexpected indeed.
@kody-replit can you look at this?
just sounds like a bug, they should immediately verify, some TLDs can be annoyingly slow though. what’s the domain?
I suspect Replit have got an issue with how they are processing new domains and adding SSLs (secure certificate). This should happen instantly, or within an hr or two if they are batching it.
Given they have just launched their own domain name purchasimg system, I suspect they have broken something in rolling that out.
Satiriq.org , thanks for helping
Same here, first time smooth, the rest took hours. Were you able to access your specific domain email?
I guess so, it’s new so might have some issues.
Altight, I will Double check the configuration.
So this suggests your domain is pointing at Replit correctly, and the https SSL certificate is working. Meaning the issue is not with your domain name DNS provider, but something inside Replit.
Don’t know how to do it… I would like a custom email on my new bought domain and I hope Replit will add this feature… I asked even how to manage the renewal of the domain and nobody asked me, only the Michael ai support
I love replit, but I think they’re missing a human strong support especially for who spends a lot of money on their platform (I’m a core member and spent over 500 dollars in last 2 months for a project close to my heart). This lack of support upset me so much ![]()
If you have any tips for a dummy like me, it will be much appreciated and karma will compensate you ![]()
The weird thing is that at the beginning it was working, I indexed it correctly on Google search and I was paying a Google ads to improve traffic. When 200 people were on my site, I decided (my bad) to cancel the deploy and redeploy with more machine power and in that moment started my nightmare of veryfing>fail>veryfing>fail, with Google search console going mad. Hope this thread could help Replit to fix the problem for all his customers that will buy a domain via Replit in the next future ![]()
Looks to me like there may be a delete deploy>redeploy TXT record bug, possibly on Replit’s side.
I’m also curious about domain management, so I looked at the docs.
It seems for now, since it’s in beta, you can’t manage your DNS records w/out the help of Replit staff. If you want to add records for email hosting, you’d need to contact them.
Finally they fix it! ![]()
This was the answer: “I was able to update the needed record to complete the verification process, and I’ve confirmed that a SSL cert has been issued, so It should be working as expected now.”
So basically, someone at Replit got up from their desk, walked over to a server and gave it a good kick. Or turned it off and on again. Always does the trick.
And good to know there are actual humans at Replit - I was starting to wonder ![]()
There are many of them Steve. Amazing ones!
