This morning the html/css/JavaScript template is no longer available. Rather, users are presented with an AI prompt “Hi…what do you want to make?” I’m afraid to type “I want to self-code a web app using html/css/JavaScript” because I suspect I’ll be charged for doing so. Is this a bug, or is Replit now monetizing AI for self-coded projects?
Replit’s left-pane options, as displayed on my Mac, are: + Create
App, Import code or design, Home, Apps, Published apps, Integrations, and Usage. A couple days ago, “Templates” was selectable under some obscure heading in the left-pane, but that heading has now been removed.
This Christmas morning, templates are back!!! Notice, in today’s screenshot, that templates are once again accessible from the left pane. But rather than being placed under some obscure heading, templates are now logically placed under the heading “Developer Frameworks.” Bottom line: Replit fixed this bug!
