Building mostly in mobile?
Doesn’t exactly clock. Maybe from earlier in the year when I was trying out the iOS app a lot and then maybe its relative to others?
Dude, you built 147 different apps in 2025?! Am I understanding that correctly?
Fully understanding!
Built for clients I’m assuming…is this your main gig? Also is Replit your primary development and deployment environment, do you use anything else? Why’d you settle on Replit vs the other popular vibe coding platforms / tools?
Not bad, considering I started with replit in July 2025.
13.6k questions/prompts, guess who is my best friend, haha…
My main project is abcde.lv.
The goal is simple: make Nutri-Score mandatory on all grocery products in Latvia.
Nicely done!
Yes, mostly client work. But I also have dozens of personal projects.
It is absolutely my primary dev/deploy env.
I use a lot of tools, but not for actual dev/deploy.
I chose after months of testing and trialing, it was the only one 2 years ago that produced anything worthwhile. I’ve continued to test everything that comes out, and Replit is far and away the best. Even as recent as Antigravity (junk).
Bolt was decent on the surface, but the ecosystem was weak and more walled.
Lovable was touted as being design-friendly. I thought the designs were subpar and no better than Replit, so I got the same design (back then, about 1.5 years ago) with hamstrung dev capability.
Firebase Studio is unusable.
Antigravity is…unremarkable.
Replit Design Mode has changed the game completely, again. I also believe subagents in Replit are responsible for the exponentially better outputs and ability to ‘color within the lines’ when adding new features (not breaking stuff).
Overall, I continue to choose Replit because it continues to be where I can have obscene levels of production and code that’s clean enough my full-stack devs sign off with minimal intervention (sometimes none at all).
What’s your experience been like?
That all make sense. I ask because I often read about experienced developers preferring other platforms, so was interested to know why someone with your experience deploying production apps chose to stay with Replit. Always looking to learn from the experience of others.
For me, I’ve been playing around with Replit for Python learning for some years now mainly for ad-hoc learning, mini projects with my son, and to stay on top of things. For vibe coding I’ve used FlutterFlow (psuedo vibe coding) and Google AI Studio before Replit Agent. AI Studio did a pretty good job with my apps prototype. I rebuilt the prototype on Replit using the same master prompt just for comparison after I read about Agent 2. I liked that Replit’s version of the proto was on par with AI Studio’s, and the fact that the Replit platform was more seamless dev to deploy. I wanted to focus on bringing ideas to life and less on deployment and infra. I just feel more in the zone on Replit (despite it’s shortcomings).
I still use AI Studio for protos and have deployed a different app on my laptop (dev) and Cloud Run (prod) as well using ChatGPT as my guide. In the end though (at least for now) I just appreciate the completeness of Replit + Agent 3. It’s pricey though!!! But cheaper than higher a dev for sure!
It is pricey. But I’m mostly doing production-level work for clients, so I’m not as sensitive to it. That doesn’t mean I’m not aware, because as I said, I have plenty of personal projects as well. But it’s just not as big a deal when it’s an ROI calc and not just sinking credits. I feel ya though.
I’m at a stage in my life where I’ve realized time value is substantially higher than cash value, and I act accordingly. The sooner people arrive at this stage in life, the better IMO.
Not sure if you saw my post about this, but this is how I actually use Replit: Askraa - Replit Experts | Professional Vibe Coding Help | Official Replit Partner
Might be some value in there for you and others.
That post is quite awesome. I learned several things from it. I didn’t totally follow the part about the db migrations and controlling how Agent does migrations to prod. I need to learn more about those best practices. other than not letting my deploys copy any dev data to prod, I don’t have any other restrictions for deploys as far as my deploys are concerned.
Great write up
…. I’m not much of a reader but I read the whole of it ….. I have just published my first app ….. it’s my own website for my Company www.kayvic.co.uk I have been in this industry for over 30yrs …. Now that I have a feel for Replit I’m thinking of more backend to help production for my own and for others ….
It doesn’t work for my teams account which sucks, I spent close to $11k I think, probably not enough to qualify for a rewind
.
