When I try to open one specific project, Replit crashes and shows a dialog back home / refresh - tried clean cookies, everything that I could, Replit support as usual it is a garbage AI, long hours waiting, any ideas?
No app loading, no shell, no db…
Same. So frustrating. Tried clearing cache, using mobile app, trying to start a new chat, rolling back to a working checkpoint - no luck.
The worst part is their support, I expended 6.5k this current year until today, just me… and they cannot hire someone overseas to be an account manager, all those months I had used support twice, and it is always those BS Zendesk bots with ready-to-go messages
Experiencing the same. Looking into it.
Hey guys, the only solution I’ve found is to SSH into the workspace, which allows shell access. Then run ‘kill 1’ command, and it all comes back to life.
If you’re non-technical, this can be daunting. If you need help, shoot me a DM.
Hi Eric,
This has just started happening with me (the app was working fine up until 30 minutes ago) and now I’m getting the same screen. The app has been running without issue for weeks BTW.
Can you please post the fix here so anybody else that might have the same problem can solve it themselves as well?
Thanks!
TFS
Actually I just remixed the app and the new app is working and while this clearly isn’t a solution to what’s happening on Replits side at least it’s a decent hack for now.
You need to SSH into the project (SSH is an option for a new Replit tab)
Follow these instructions based on the type of system that you’re using: Replit Docs
Use CMD or Terminal to SSH into the project using instructions provided. Once in, run “kill 1” command. It comes right back online.
Thanks Eric. Between then and now everything is back up and running. You’re right that did look a little daunting. Hopefully Replit will get to the bottom of this (seemingly) occasional bug. Until then if anyone else runs across this problem and Googles a solution hopefully they’ll find this thread and either feel more comfortable SSH’ing into their project or using Remix to keep working while it’s fixed.
Cheers!
TFS
Remix is a PITA way to go about fixing it though, especially if you have a bunch of secrets that need porting post-remix.
Agreed. So let’s hope they get to the bottom of this and fix the cause quickly.
It’s good having you here Eric!
It’s not good, it’s great actually!
