Migrating from Lovable to Replit - how well does it work, and any gotchas to look out for?

I’ve got a potential client who vibe coded an app in Lovable (boo, hiss ). It doesn’t work very well and he now realises he needs a pro to get it working. If this works, I may have found a way to get a few of these over to Replit. So all feedback welcome, so I can jump in and strip Lovable bare :rolling_on_the_floor_laughing:

I told him I will only do it if I can move it to Replit. He says it has a DB and file storage as well as connects to Stripe, but I’ve not looked any deeper so not sure of the dirty details.

Has anyone done a migration from Lovable to Replit? Anything I need to look out for? If any Replit team have internal thoughts then I welcome those too.

And if your response is “don’t touch it with a 10 foot pole” then please say so - I need to know if this is worth the effort, and how much to charge if I did.

All feedback means this guy Steve.

My suggestions:

STRIP THEM BARE

Get the dirty details. Get the dirt. Even if you plan on doing it despite the dirt. You gotta know what you’re about to be wrist deep into.

I think this is project based. Hard to tell without seeing it ourselves. You got 44 years of experience under the belt.

Just start migrating it and get them over here.

Tell lovable to suck it.

If this was migrating from/ to the IC I’d tell you grab a longer pole. 10 feet ain’t ever gonna be long enough.

I mean. Whatttttt
