Im already using it on other platforms like many people do.. This is exactly the reason for this thread. The request is for this to be integrated into replit because of obvious reasons i strongly believe there should be a more open approach towards open models being in replit if the users choose to, why not ?

I would venture to guess there are numerous reasons.
Funding.
Profit.
Quality.
Partnerships.
Reliability.
To name a few.
All possible to happen if there is enough willpower, is it because is simply a chinese model ? Put those aside as a model is performing top tier really, and i could say that it even outperforms opus in some areas, more autonomous and the list goes on and on, there is huge motivation for the end user to use such model, it is also being integrated in so many apps and harnesses daily, replit could easily benefit from having multiple agent partners since we are reaching an era where a vibe coder nowadays has so many options with models, i cant see the issues for not doing that, but what do i know about it ?
To be honest, If i could choose between anthropic and Kimi for the time being, especially after the Fable ban i would go all in for Kimi 2.7 on my replit workspace, no brainer, food for thought maybe for future partnerships ? ^^ i hope
I’m sure the fact that it is a Chinese model weighs in here greatly.
There is alot of hype for these models right now, the differences are starting become less and less evident, once Codex 5.6 comes out I’m sure the gap will close even more. A company like replit cannot just jump on every hype trend. AI has the same issue that crypto has had for years, tribalism and ideology with hype cycles. It’s all marketing. Just build something, the models have been good for a while now, the improvements are marginal in reality, most people will never use the capability of even Opus 4.6, not really.

Replit has Fable available already ?
I mean sure, I haven’t played around with it yet, it’s fun while you can use it for no additional cost then it’s a fortune. I mean you can be a fanboy or whatever, I’m not a fan of any of these companies, they are very deceptive about their usage and Fable will be used less than the other models once they cut everyone off since its extrodanrily token hungry. So far all I have seen is some cool demos, once some good software starts being developed with it to justify the token usage then I will give it a shot too.
trust me, i’m not a lite user, my replit usage isn’t even on there from the last 12 months. Also that number is not right, I’m paying for the $200 plan, its just estimating cost which is subsidized usage.
