Note if it helps others managed to fix this by applying cloudflare to work with namecheap dns provider. Fixed the problem and now the website resolves in milliseconds. So nothing to do with replit!

Hi All,

I dont know if this is the best place to write this but Im having a lot of trouble deploying Replit to a custom domain, where that custom domain resolves in a quick manner.

I used Replit to rebuild my LLC website , but if you navigate to that custom domain it takes far too long to resolve. After researching I don’t think the problem lies in my DNS settings, my DNS provider is namecheap and I included the correct @ and TXT records as replit advised.

I suspect the issue may be in the SSL certificate that replit says it automatically provides for custom domains: Replit Docs or the issue could lie in the Google Cloud Load Balancer configuration, which replit doesn’t give you access to?

Would love any guidance on where the issue might be for my custom domain, as I never had this problem with Squarespace as my website and DNS provider (the domain resolved immediately).

Glad to hear all good now. One thing to consider on Cloudflare is to see if the gray cloud is set (no proxy) for this domain so your SSL cert will auto new by Replit in future for custom domain.

From the doc you linked “Cloudflare proxied domain records since Replit cannot automatically renew security certificates for that type.”

ah thanks for that reminder mark! I totally missed that. Turning off that orange cloud thing now (hope it doesnt break anything!)
