Did Anthropic just wipe away the moat for Replit, Lovable and every other AI Dev platform?

Two mega things I’ve just spotted in one of Anthropic’s announcements today:

  1. This hidden gem: “We’re also releasing the Claude Agent SDK—the same infrastructure that powers Claude Code—so developers can build agents with the same foundation we use.”
    • this is MASSIVE! If I understand correctly, this lets ANYONE build their own AI Dev platform. Not an easy task, sure. But … OMG! Standby for 1,000 Replit’s launched before end of the year! Many will be rubbish, but this is day one of the start of something big!!
    • If I sound excited,… it’s because the next 20 Christmas’s for many of us have all come at once :blush::blush::blush:
  1. At code related tasks, Sonnet 4.5 doesn’t just out-perform Sonnet 4. It out-performs Opus 4.1
    • So a big question for Replit @FranciscoCM - what is the point of switching Agent to use High-power mode?
