Agent issues - multiple agents, Local echos, lost text

I really like Replit overall and use it heavily, including Agent 3, but the Replit interface itself (site/program, not just a native Android app) is borderline unusable for me. I’ve gotten into the habit of copying every message before I hit send because it often just disappears or the connection drops.

Duplication issues

When I load Replit, I often see two agents, which eventually merge into one

An older agent chat from ~10 days ago sometimes overrides or overshadows newer conversations

I get weird text echoing or duplicate characters when I tap or scroll, especially when the agent is working in the background

If I queue multiple items, two sometimes get submitted at the same time

A lot of this feels like a remix or rollback that didn’t fully resolve and left the interface in a bad state

Connection issues

Connection is usually fine on Wi-Fi as long as Replit stays in the foreground. If I switch to another app or tab even briefly and come back, the UI still looks connected and I can see agent updates, but when I send a message it can just vanish. Sometimes it reports “no connection” after the message is already gone.

This has been happening for months and makes Replit extremely frustrating to use.

I’ve mostly had to rely on Chrome on Android, which works better but still isn’t great. iPhone and Windows desktop behave even worse for me. My projects may be on the heavier side, but I see similar behavior across different apps and sessions.

I am not in the third world country I am using top tier / flagship products, high speed Internet etc. and the problem is easily replicated anywhere. I have an open ticket with customer service that’s supposed to be passed to someone who can help but it’s gone unresponded to for almost 2 weeks.

I’m working with this full-time and would appreciate any sort of advice.

I’ve had similar issues.

Generally after working on a project for a while. Seems It needs to reset as there’s just too much in the buffer and it gets confused.

Exiting the project and reloading it often solves if for a while.

Honestly, development is a process, and often there’s paths that were taken at one point that should have have to impact on current Dev.

At present there no way to get it to ignore, or treat important prompts instructions as part of core brief.

Perhaps looking at the way prompts are assembled, and grouping these around features and being able to tag them as important, reference or history would help.

In other words, a way to visualise, manage and integrate the conversation against core project elements.

My 2c

Rob

i also get the agent loading icon endlessly, tried exiting the app, refreshing browser, clearing site browser history, switching to a new browser. Nothing helped. Seems if you talk to the agent too much, it just stop working? What else can I try?

I finally found a solution that sticks

On Samsung Android Chrome

The key is in the app switcher, set app to ‘keep open’

I also disabled any type of battery optimization and showed background data even on mobile or with any days restrictions.

Nearly all of the issues are gone!
