Replit made some sort of change to the way the agent works and it is really messed up.
I used to give really specific prompts to the agent and it followed instructions to the letter, now it seems to lose the memory of half of what the prompts say, improvises on a lot of stuff, interprets instructions freely and does not follow the instructions literally.
What did you guys do? i can’t make the agent do what i ask it to do and it is costing me time, headaches and money. how can i fix this, how can you solve this?

Sorry, this may be a stupid answer, but have you tried asking it? Perhaps even saying to look at your previous prompts and ask it why you got better results from those but not the recent ones, and if anything’s changed in the model that needs you to ask differently.
you mean switching between power and max? would it make a difference in the “following instructions correctly” part of the issue? did they do something to the modes besides changing the names?
not stupid, i tried. i asked it why it was not working properly and not following instructions and taking sorta creative liberties. it said it might lose some context over long conversations and some ideas might get compacted, but nothing on why it ignores instructions in the very last prompt. i thought i might give instructions that are too long, but they appear complete in the “attached assets” folder in the file tree. so no idea, and the agent doesn’t know either.
Just coming to say the same thing. I’ve been using Replit for awhile and use it A LOT. I’ve been through the Agent 4 debacle too…lol. Something changed and the agent is almost hopeless right now.
I’ve asked it what changed and if it’s using a new AI engine in the background but it says it can’t tell me.
I sort of assumed it used to use Claude and now uses OpenAI. But I have no proof other than my experience mixed with rumors mixed with Replit and OpenAI partnership.
I’m really hoping it resolves itself as I am on Replit all day, every day and the difference is maddening.
oh i hadn’t heard about the open ai thing, just that it had a major upgrade. if this is the issue, then we are cooked, because there is no rollback option and no settings to adjust.
