A genuine offer to support other Replitors with my AI Dev Kit

Please note, in this post I am offering my services for free to this community. I am not selling! So I hope I’m not breaking any community guidelines

As a number of you know, I have created an open-source AI Dev Kit (ADK), which can build web and native apps from a single codebase - purely in Replit, which I am locked into!

It is a scaffold app for people who don’t have the greatest technical/dev skills, so they aren’t starting apps from a blank page and then getting stuck half way and dumping them into some growing app graveyard. My vision is to help thousands of vibe coders build apps that actually work and can be launched to real users.

By itself, the open-source repo for the ADK will be manageable by experienced devs (once I’ve finished the readme doc, any day now). But for those with less technical skills, I offer the Support Hub for a fee (but see my free deal below).

The Hub is an online forum, with me guiding people, and a growing library of support docs and guides to help people use the ADK to build their web/native apps, and confidently get to a fully-live stage.

The AI Dev Kit and Support Hub are brand new. So I am keen to get people in, to learn and improve it for others.

I would like to invite existing members of this community to join the Support Hub for free. I will waive ALL fees for 12 months - there are no hidden upgrades, it is 100% genuine.

You know - I was thinking along the same path - my goal has been for the past month to create a foundation of headless features:

  • Auth/RBAC
  • Gamification
  • Social
  • Marketplace
  • Communication
  • Newsletter
  • Blog
  • Project Tracking
  • CRM

My goal has been and still is to be able to present this as a template db and template repo that anyone could buildup from. I’m being stymied by some of the issues that I’m eating time on. Anyway - any suggestions on how to waste less time, enforce standards, get passwordless auth to be production grade - I’m all for it. Happy to contribute what I’ve accomplished so far. It includes a lot of my personal design thinking on how a startup could begin to build their platform with a good pile of features to draw upon.

Cheers!

What would be the level of effort in adding support for Tailwind/Neon?

Those are already present since you mention it  - uh - I should be clear - in the foundation I’m building those are present - I can’t speak to Steve’s

I use Tailwind CSS.

In terms of Neon, do you mean DB, as in Replit’s own DB? I only use Supabase for auth, DB and file storage.

Yes, Neon DB; Replit automatically implemented it early on so now I’m stuck

Last week I reviewed whether I want to switch back from Supabase to Replit auth/DB.

But then I re-read a couple of posts about “replit deleted my data” or “it has changed my data structure without my permission”.

I also took a look at the inability to let us brand the auth pages (the forgot password page is literally a full Replit website with top and bottom menus to all their pages). No client I know will accept this in any app I build for them.

It’s not a process for everyone, but I have complete auth/DB/file storage control. When we need to change the DB schema, the agent is unable to just nip in and rip the DB apart - especially in prod. I have a workflow that forces it to produce SQL files for me to take and run manually in the Supabase platform. This level of extraction ensures a clean review before changing the most important part of a s/w solution.

Hey Steve, I’m working on a few different apps and automation tools for an Australian logistics company that I work for, mainly things like pulling data via API to display tailored dashboards at this stage (essentially to give a custom and specific view of data that the systems can capture, but don’t provide an easy snapshot view of) . I use ChatGPT to help me use replit when it gets stuck, but want to understand how to structure things better and make them scalable. Keen to see how you could help me out.

I was able to brand a lot of the elements, but yes, password reset I could not pull it out.

To be open with you, I have paused offering my AI Dev Kit (ADK) scaffold to clients until next year, as I want to build it up a bit more to be something others can get their heads around.

So currently I’m only offering it via full bespoke builds for clients - but using Replit so affordable and fast. Message me off the platform if this would make sense

Alternatively, I’m more than happy to answer stuff on here - I’m loving sharing experiences with other Repliters; so just ask. And on that note,…

…I believe having a core set of prompts and a base app that you re-use for all your apps makes a lot of sense. Your prompts and replit.md would direct the AI agent to focus on your pre-designed architecture and rules for the way you like to build stuff.

It isn’t an easy process, because the agent like to try and take over and make it’s own decisions. I started using my ADK in High autonomy mode and that was too difficult. Next I tried Medium and even that is a little too heavy handed. So I am now back down to Low autonomy where the agent basically accepts that I’m the boss

Oh, and instead of ChatGPT, I prefer to do all my app planning inside Replit - because unlike ChatGPT, it can “see” my code. I feel this makes a big difference.

So one thing I’ve been thinking about for this platform is creating a User Group or Master Mind group that meets up with some regularity to be able to collaborate, bounce ideas off each other, learn from each other, etc. Obviously this could result in collabs and work opportunities as well.

Anyone have an opinion on this idea?

Have you seen that Replit now creates a separate production database on deployment to address the issue that you are talking about from a few months back so there are more backups in place.

@shawn93, can you clarify - did you mean you managed to brand elements on the Replit auth pages (login/signup)?

I was able to brand and have my domain URL for everything but the password reset flow.

I am confused. This is what agent tells me if I try it on a test app:

Got it, now I understand what you’re saying. So I did not use Replit Auth, I implemented basic auth with hashing etc etc, setup Google Auth, and have no other Auth at the moment. With the reset password flow, I think Replit Auth might be handling that. I’ll ping you quick and you can take a look.
