My app AllPrayer.app is soon to be released, already submitted to Play store.
So far I’ve made mistakes and learn few things, and I would like to share to anyone currently working on their projects or just new to Replit.
*never make small edits on Canvas:
Sure you can easily change font size, positioning, or change a text and do small things. By doing this, it will cost you under $0.50, just for 1 change!
Only use canvas for small changes if agent might take few minutes to do a small change.
*never tell agent to make small edits
If you want to make small changes, don’t tell agent one by one. Tell agent to do multiple works in one transaction. So for an example if I want to add Privacy Policy page, Terms of Service page, and Copyright page. Instead of telling agent to make Privacy Policy page first which would cost possibly $0.78, and after I tell agent to make Terms of Service page, these would cost as well.
Rather you should tell agent to make pages for all three section. And agent will charge you changes for all three for same price possibly under $1.
*fill the message box with as much information, and tell agent to do them. There is a character limit to the box though.
*use Economy for majority works. Use Power for major change, but you will rarely use Power. You will know when to use Power, when agent keep trying to solve a problem but messes up something else.
Use Lite only for minute changes such as text, font changes, deleting something, moving/positioning something, swapping image etc. Never use lite for small task, only for tiny changes.
*when thinking of adding a feature or changing something. Always ask agent first under Plan!
Agent will plan what to do which would cost under $0.68 mostly. When you are happy with the plan, untick Planned mode and tell it to build, of course that would cost for building but price is reduced. You waste money from agent building something you didn’t plan, and you have to revert back to original, but then you lost money.
*use Gemini and Chatgpt in conjunction with Replit. To save money, always ask those two a.i what to do or how to do things. When you get a valid answer, then tell Replit to build. Planning with Replit cost money. But planning with Chatgpt and Gemini cost nothing. You can share printscreen screenshots of your app to the a.i, they will tell you what to do.
Also Chatgpt has app function that links to Replit. Mind you, sometimes prompting with Chatgpt Replit can cost some money under Replit. Because Replit would sometimes response in the Reit platform.
*when it comes to fixing certain code or functionality changes, or even installing a agent skill, plug in, 3rd porgrams. Use Chatgpt or Gemini to use terminal, and making changes to files. Because if you keep telling Replit to do these things for you, it will cost you money.
*Because with Suggested Planned Task.
When you implement a feature, the agent will suggest a change or update to the new feature. But know your app, because not all suggested planned changes are needed for your app. If you keep accepting or approving all agent suggested plan tasks, it will cost you dear money.
But take not of that feature or screenshot it for memo. And later on, you can tell agent to build that feature changes.
*when making changes to a feature, ensure everything else works fine.
If you don’t double check other functions, you would make more changes, and by the time you realised something in your app is not working. It will be difficult to revert back to when you made a change first time. You can revert, but all the other changes and fixes you did would be gone.
