Does anybody have a view on upgrading to Vite 6?
Agent describes it as “meaningful”. When asked what it means by that it says:
"Upgrading from Vite 5 to Vite 6 is a major version jump — like upgrading from iPhone iOS 16 to iOS 17. It usually works fine, but there’s a real chance it breaks something in how the app builds or runs in development, and you’d need to test everything and potentially fix a few things before it works again.
It’s not dangerous, just not a quick one-line fix. It could take 30 minutes or it could take a few hours depending on what breaks — and since I can’t predict that upfront, I described it as “meaningful.”
Given that the Vite vulnerabilities only affect the development environment (not your live app), the risk of upgrading likely outweighs the benefit right now."
I’m mainly interested in that final sentence. It seems pointless to do the upgrade if it doesn’t even touch the live environment.
