Replit Agent wants to start over

I am about 2 weeks into my build with agent when tonight when I went to start a new feature it wanted to start with what looked like a completely new project. Having dealt with something similar before I forked the repl and then decided to see what happened.

it then proceeded to try adn build a completely new app with a new database that we hadnt even used before. It broke the entire thing and couldnt get it to even load. I cannot get it to respect the existing codebase and build upon it. Is there a fix for this? I even tried going to a different repl and coming back. The other one worked as intended.

i would use the assistant here, agent is only good to start off with or for more complex requirements. you also need to be more specific with your prompts. give it some context and focus on smaller tasks then just simply “fix all my bugs please”.

ya for checking bugs I would normally, but this was after extensive testing so I just booted up a forked repl and went with one of their suggested prompts for agent. It gives the same style response currently for all prompts
