This new build is going to bankrupt me. 6 dollars spent in an hour of work because the agent keeps saving the conversation as a rollback then asking if I want to it to take the action. I said yes then it screwed everything up, charged me again. I asked to diagnose the issue it charged me again. Then completed the next action, which was completely wrong, charged me again… I am so glad I am almost done with this app, the new system is terrible at cost and dragging out issues. Not building another with this behavior, miss the old days!

If not, you should. Go get a quote for your project, and a timeline, and then circle back to this $6 and see if your perspective has changed.

There’s something new with the agent. Till day before, it used to do the RCA and implement solution on its own, today it is doing the RCA and sharing the solution instead of implementing it and then double charging for implementation as a separate checkpoint.

Oh I know, trust me I have tried to get others to help break me out of this and it is expensive! Got charged $500 just for an assessment. My point is the new agent behavior is not logical and seems very heavy on the billing side instead of being productive. I have been building this app since January and there was a weekend in March, one weekend, when the agent seemed to be completely dialed in and every single request was met with a productive outcome. Every .25 was step forward. I really enjoyed building on that weekend. But to have something like 30 charges in mere minutes and spend a entire day of work to fix a UI layout issue, and with chat GPT’s help, is soul crushing!

There’s always new things with the Agent haha, I’m not tracking any major billing changes launched yet. Happy to hop on a call and go over it with you, would be interested to see your prompting through that period of Agent not getting it.

Guys, you HAVE to ditch Agent and focus on Assistant. Perhaps Agent is still good for the 0-80% MVP/PoC, but truly, Assistant has come into it’s own. I even prefer it over Codex now! I can stack up multiple tasks, and for 5c i get Agent-like results with extra thinking and layout I never dreamed of. I am truly loving Replit again!
So the new Assistant is Claude 4. I was thrilled to see it making very quick progress in resolving issues. Then I started seeing inconstancies in the outcome and realized that in order to make me happy it was hardcoding the data instead of actually fixing the links. So the errors went away instead of it resolving the process flow. I then spent 3 dollars having an agent fix that same task!
