I have gotten accustomed to using the Extended Thinking model for my planning. It appears to be active in one of my project forks (icon is visible in the lower tool bar). However, it doesn’t appear in Agent Tools anymore so if I’m in a repl that didn’t have this model active prior to the UI change, then it is no longer an option.
Am I missing anything?
Is the icon just a remnant of the changeover and it is actually no longer active?
Correct. It’s gone.
I see the “Extended Thinking” model icon appear in Plan Mode when the model is thinking. I believe that the Agent can choose different models depending on the task (sounds like a ‘mixture of experts’ approach).
Hard to say, but I see that too.
Without hearing anything from Replit it is always easy to assume that they are doing this for financial reasons. I liked the Extended Thinking and would ue it a lot in planning stages. Hearing about the reasoning behind the change would be helpful not to feel hard done by by Replit.
I also liked it and used it religiously. I believe it’s being employed automatically now. It’s a bit ambiguous.
Yeah, for me it was a default setting whether in build or plan mode. Looks like Agent 3 has it in-built.
Official word is that it is applied automatically when necessary in Agent 3.
