Is the desktop app cheaper?

I’ve been using the web version for a while and I’m blown away by how good is it but also how quickly I racking up cost.

I’ve read the new Codex Mac app is cheaper to run compared to codex 5.3 in the web, as it does on device processing. Is this true for Replit Desktop?

I’d like to be able to save cost by developing on desktop, then pushing to replit’s servers for hosting and other integrations.

Not sure but interesting thought. Claude was not cheaper on desktop vs web in my case for what it’s worth. Haven’t tried the new codex app, but am a fan of their vs code integration

Oh that’s disappointing to hear. Even when implemented like this? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IV1913V4UNA I was going to try that next.

It’s cheaper than Replit agent.

I thought you meant web interface vs desktop for claude/codex, etc
