Connectors need to be configurable at an individual level else they’re never going to get used outside of simple individual internal apps. The way connectors have been built doesn’t make sense to me. I understand that at Enterprise level you can have users individually connect to their app but every level should have this to allow us to build apps that any user can configure. For example I want to create an agent that scans all my mailboxes but I can only do this for me at the account level not for anyone using the app. I hear this has been discussed so just adding my opinion to this.
I imagine it is a privacy issue. You are connecting a personal account and Replit would basically be allowing anyone with access to your App to have private access to your accounts via the connector.
Personally, I am not getting the whole Connectors thing anyway. All my 3rd party connections are hand-crafted between me and the Agent.
My assumption is that these are aimed at slightly less technical people. For example I was playing with the Google APIs initially and wasn’t having too much luck with agent (and I’m reasonably technical) but then I switched to the connectors and they just worked. I think Enterprises will like the ootb (arguably more secure) approach to integrations vs custom each time. I do see your point though.
