Built a receipt scanning + AI spending app in Replit

Hey Replit community

I’ve been building SpendWise over the last

few months entirely on Replit and I’m finally

at the stage where I need 12 beta testers to

unlock public release on Google Play.

What SpendWise does:

Scan any receipt — AI reads every single item automatically in seconds

Tracks return deadlines and alerts you before they expire — UK shoppers lose £800M+ a year to missed returns

Ask anything about your spending in plain English — “how much did I spend on coffee this month?” — it just answers

Detects when you leave a shop and reminds you to scan your receipt while it’s still in your hand

Built with: Expo/React Native, Node.js,

SQLite, OpenAI Vision, OpenStreetMap

The app is live on Google Play closed

testing right now. I just need 12 people

to download it, try it and give honest feedback.

So, I’m thinking about making a component that does this on a basic level for my GigPrep Tax Preparation Applications.

I am taking some inspiration from this, and there was this Push-up application that had a really cool concept of recording the body and making sure posture was correct.

I’m going to take that same concept and apply it to receipts. In the sense that a user can lay out several reciepts on a surface (with some separation), and the AI will scan each of them individually and catalog the information. Letting users manually edit if needed.

This will make bulk scanning much easier. Consider adding this type of function. I’ve been brainstorming how to avoid scanning receipts from 2025 one at time.

This app, along with the other mentioned are going to help get me there.
