Please can some one help and tell me if you have the same problem. Can’t pay €50 a day ???
Do all your planning outside of Replit in your favourite AI, then feed Replit prompts in stages of build. You should not be near replit until you have a full plan worked out!
That way you dont burn credits discussing stuff with Replit agent.
Keep your other AI in the loop for everything as it needs to know what stages you are in and whats next for prompts.
If you have major problems, get both AI’s involved, Replit and your AI you use for planning, to work things out together.
For design, use google Stitch to work out what you want your project to look like, it’s free.
Copy paste the code into Replit from Stitch or just drop a screenshot from stitch and you are half way in design setup. Even better, get a free Figma account, copy stitch results to Figma, import straight into Replit from Figma.
Just a few quick things that save me heaps, if you are not already doing those.
Only publish if you are sure your app is done, not every time Replit tells you to.

@dimitrismcm welcome to Replit.
You will find that your costs will go down considerably the more you use it.
You will find patterns that work for you. You will create repeatable prompts, whether they be Skills or simply a Word doc you upload.
Everything just gets easier and cheaper the more you use it.
You have to spend the money upfront, to reap the rewards down the line.
Replit is cheap. Very cheap relative to traditional software development, or even web development.
If you are doing work for clients, aim for 10x your costs, that should still be a huge saving for your clients, plus the speed of the build should win you the business.
Some good tips here. And unfortunately there are pitfalls if you are new, depending on your background.
One challenge everyone had, however experienced, is not knowing what you don’t know (unknown unknowns). Even the most experienced person has knowledge gaps - nobody knows everything… only AI does ![]()
But a classic pitfall is spiraling on a problem and consuming credits prompt after prompt, because you’re feeling you’re close to the solution, buy every time it is short. And I promise you, we’ve all been there.
But some of the tips that others have shared above do help. Get advice, even if from other AI. A fresh perspective (new context) can provide the pivotal “ah-ha” moment. Lock in the patterns you discover. Use patterns that other people share (@ablumson has been pretty generous sharing tips and patterns).
But the human tip I would recommend - try to catch yourself spiraling on a bug / feature / whatever. Perseverance is a great quality, but don’t brute force a problem. You will eventually solve it, but at more cost. Pause, reflect, get advice.
And following on from @kblumson, once you find a solution to a really annoying problem, that’s the exact time to create a Skill.
You will never, ever waste time and tokens on that same problem again.
I used to do this manually as Word.docs but now with Skills you can create an industry standard formatted solution, to literally any issues you may come across.
The prblem is easy, just make a pdf in 8 langauges, everything is fine accept the Greek, arabic and turksh languauges, it gives a problem in export the PDF, everytime gives the same problem, agent say’s now I see the problem works some minutes ask to publish and wow the problem remain. Please help it coast so much money I’m now at €600 in one week
