Hi everyone,
I ran into a pretty frustrating situation today while working with the Replit AI Agent and I’m hoping someone from the community or the Replit team can clarify what the correct procedure is.
While working on one of my apps, the AI Agent appeared to get stuck in a loop or long-running process. Even after refreshing the page and exiting the workspace, the agent seemed to continue operating in the background and consuming usage.
A few things that made this difficult to manage:
• I couldn’t find a clear “stop agent” or terminate process button
• The agent appeared to keep running even after refreshing or closing the tab
• At one point I couldn’t log back in to the workspace to stop it
• Usage charges continued accumulating while this was happening
This resulted in significantly higher usage than expected in a very short time.
I’m trying to understand:
-
Is there a reliable way to immediately stop a running AI agent?
-
Is there a hard usage cap or safety control to prevent runaway usage?
-
Is the agent supposed to keep running after leaving the workspace?
-
Where can we see real-time usage while the agent is working?
I’m building multiple apps on Replit and really like the platform, but this situation made it hard to control usage when the agent gets stuck.
If anyone has experienced something similar or knows the correct way to stop an agent process, I’d really appreciate the guidance.
Thanks.
