Agent is supposed to read Replit.md and Sysspec.md but it doesn't

I love Replit. It is powerful and knowledgeable.

Then it is frustrating, and ridiculous, that I must constantly remind the Agents to actually READ replit.md. They say they do, but their actions and questions to me expose the lie. I WANT all Agents to actually read replit.md BEFORE working on their assigned task.

Agents hand off tasks to other agents. This is normal orchestration. However, Agents have repeatedly told me that they read Replit.md before beginning their work. We both know that the longer the prompt, the more the middle stuff gets ‘forgotten’. So I created sysspec.md which contains the specifications for the app. Sysspec.md is specifically referenced, at the top of replit.md, as MANDATORY reading.

Getting an “Opps. Sorry. You’re right. I’ll read it now.” changes nothing, and costs me money YET AGAIN.

I enjoy the power of Replit. There is so much potential here.

Had similar issues. I now have the agent to check every coding session. If you make multiple requests and changes at one time.There are going to be errors in your application code. So check as you build. The advantage of the canvas is being able to plan your code and application path correctly. All of your ideas in one place. So the foundation is solid.
