About the Bugs category

Found a bug? First, check if someone has already reported it. If not, this category is for reporting Replit platform software bugs, not issues related to the Agent or Assistant writing incorrect code, and not bugs in the code or application you’re building on Replit.

Here are some examples:

  • :white_check_mark: Bug: Specific UI element is unusable or unresponsive
  • :x: Not a bug: Agent wrote incorrect code or got stuck in a loop
  • :white_check_mark: Bug: Deployment shows error 500 when accessing valid endpoint
  • :x: Not a bug: Assistant gave incorrect information
  • :white_check_mark: Bug: Console isn’t showing output
  • :x: Not a bug: Feature request for something new

If the Agent or Assistant isn’t working as you’d like, check out the Agent & Assistant category. If you’re requesting something new, head over to the Features Request category instead.

Overview

This category is for documenting and discussing technical issues that impact your experience on Replit. Whether it’s an IDE glitch, AI assistant behavior, or deployment problem, clear bug reports help the team understand and resolve issues faster. Community members can also share workarounds and confirm if they’re experiencing similar problems.

What Makes a Great Bug Report

  • Clear description of what’s not working as expected
  • Steps to reproduce the issue
  • Expected vs actual behavior
  • Your environment details (browser, OS, etc.)
  • Relevant error messages or screenshots
  • Any workarounds you’ve discovered
  • Links to your repl, if public and you don’t mind sharing

How This Category is Different

  • Focusing on platform issues rather than coding questions
  • Emphasizing reproducible problems rather than one-time errors
  • Creating a searchable database of known issues and solutions

Best Practices

  • Search first to see if others have reported the same issue
  • Use descriptive titles that summarize the problem
  • Tag posts with affected features (IDE, Agent, Deployments, etc.)
  • Update your report if you find new information or solutions
  • Be responsive to questions from the team or other users
  • Include links to repls that demonstrate the issue when possible

This category helps improve Replit by creating a clear channel for reporting and tracking bugs. Working together, we can identify issues quickly and help the team make Replit more stable and reliable for everyone!
