# Replit is using additional credit first instead of monthly credit

I want to use up my monthly credit first, not my additional credit, which I’m saving for later when i need it on more complex projects.

Replit seems to have changed this setting, as it always worked before. How do I change it back?

not sure, but you may also want to check the smallprint of additional credit earned via referrals, as I think this expires after a few months (I read that somewhere on the dashboard, but can’t recall where).
