Two months ago, I started my Replit journey, immersing myself in AI development and automation. I wanted to build apps I personally needed while also creating portfolio pieces to showcase my skills as I look for new clients and opportunities.
My first project? A calorie-counting app—not just as a coding challenge, but as a personal tool to support my health journey.
AI Cal Count: More Than Just Calories
I built AI Cal Count to help me track my meals and make better food choices. As of now, I’ve lost 23 lbs, with more to go, but I’m determined! 
This app isn’t just about counting calories—it’s a digital diary with an AI coach, featuring:
Meal tracking with AI – Just snap a picture of your food, and AI logs it!
Personalized meal suggestions – The app reviews your eating habits and offers recommendations.
Health insights – A simple, intuitive way to stay accountable.
I went through three iterations, starting from scratch each time—not because I couldn’t fork my code, but because I was learning and evolving with each version. Now, I have a working MVP! 
ARTstocker: A Digital Gallery for AI & Generative Artists
While working on AI Cal Count, I had another idea: Where do digital artists store and showcase their work? With AI-generated art, creators produce thousands of images, many of which never get seen.
So, I built ARTstocker, a platform where artists can:
Create a “Sawdust Gallery” – A space for the byproducts of their creative process.
Turn unseen images into assets – Even drafts and outtakes have value.
Host their own personal digital gallery – Artists control their own space.

Art Critique & AI-Powered Pricing
My third project is still in development, but I’m on iteration two of an AI Art Critique tool that:
Provides AI-driven feedback on artwork.
Suggests resources to improve skills.
Offers price estimation based on market data.
This one is more complex, but I’m excited to see it take shape!
From Open Source to AI: Lessons Learned
My background in UI/UX and Open Source CMSs has helped me navigate this new space, but AI development has been an entirely new and exciting challenge.
Replit has been a game-changer for rapid prototyping and learning, allowing me to merge automation, Web3, and AI into meaningful products.
We’re in an exciting era, where technology is evolving at lightning speed. And one thing is clear:
AI won’t replace humans, but humans using AI will.
